About Dániel Kovacsik
After his studies in one of the hospitality schools of the country, Dániel Kovacsik began his career as a professional waiter at the Corinthia hotel in Budapest. Six years later, Daniel is still working there however he has been promoted to executive lounge manager a few years ago.
The Waiters Races Daniel participated in
In 2004, Le Meridien Budapest hotel organized the first edition of waiters race in the city. Since then, the waiters race which happens every year, welcomes waiters from the 5 stars hotels and restaurants of the Hungarian capital. Dániel Kovacsik heard about that event in 2006 and immediately decided to test himself into that world-famous race. Dániel Kovacsik is now a well-known waiter in Hungary since he has won Budapest waiters race every single year from 2006 to 2009 and also this year in 2011 (the most difficult one according to him since the weather was very hot)! He actually didn’t win it in 2010..but it is only because he didn’t participate to the waiters race this year…!
This amazing achievement is obviously due to Daniel’s good sportive conditions (he is playing football from 15 years) however Daniel admits he also trains every year before the waiters race by running twice a week. Daniel also told us that 2011 waiters race was the most difficult one since the weather was very hot.
Daniel’s recommendations corner
“Of course try to train twice a week or from times to times before the race. However, if you cannot do it or if you are tired or not in good condition, you need to put all your heart into the race. “
“Try to think about your company during the race: in order to win, you need to love your job and your company.”
And last recommendation: ‘‘Respect your adversary!’’
